The BRAVE Program for Parents and Caregivers of Young Children

Over the last 15 years, research team from Griffith University and the University of Southern Queensland have developed and tested a suite of internet-based programs for the treatment of childhood anxiety, called BRAVE-ONLINE.

Their other programs for older children (aged 7-12) and teenagers (aged 13-17) have been freely available since 2014 and have been used by almost 30,000 families. These programs are now available to all Australian families free of charge thanks to their partnership with Beyond Blue.

Their latest program is for parents of young children aged 3-7 years who suffer with anxiety (including worry and fears).

The BRAVE Program for Parents and Caregivers of Young Children provides parents with education about child anxiety and teaches parents a variety of strategies to manage anxiety-provoking situations that their child may experience. Parents will also receive information on strategies to better manage their child’s anxious behaviours.

Parents can register for FREE by completing a few short anonymous surveys that will help the Universities (and the parent) track their child’s progress. Then, they will have access to evidence-based sessions and resources to help their child.
